good or bad?

Of course I'm able to answer the Final Jeopardy question referring to a drunk stagger:

Sails that ran free & fluttered without control caused a ship to stagger like a drunk, giving rise to this phrase:

3 SHEETS TO THE WIND.

boo. yah.

I look through my window so bright

I have been sick since Saturday.  Until this morning, I've allowed myself to remain in denial about it, but after waking up today, it's official, my immune system has failed me.  I am crossing my fingers & toes that I will recover in time for New Year's Eve so I can enjoy it as planned.  I am snuggled up with layers upon layers, relocating from my bed to my couch with my warm fur blanket.  Until I am better, please bare with me & posting stuff like this:   Michael loves Mamet,

because it makes me laugh & i'm sick. yep, totally pulling that card.  i really hope wall-e arrives soon.
wa wa waaa.

hangingaround

Missoni Pre-Fall 09.  Yes please.  I just wish each piece came with matching wall paper.

In other news, I just found out my "late Christmas gift" is a Wii.  I kind of wanted to jump up and down like a little kid when I found out.  With my January tv line-up getting ready to begin & now this, I guess I'll see you guys in March. (maybe.)  The other alternative would be to  host viewing parties and game nights, which I'm totally down for.

bittersweet distractors

Last night a group of us had a pot luck dinner, Christmas left overs & new recipes.  Jess made her apple cider & we drank wine & mused over how dysfunctional all families are.

After consuming enough wine to bare the cold, we ventured out to the Prospector to assume our roles as the live entertainment for the evening.  Homeboy needs to add some Counting Crows to the collection, I would definitely kill it singing a little "Mr. Jones" or "'Round Here."  After  the Prospector I headed out to meet up with Tim, B, Phine & some others.  I'm so thankful to be constantly surrounded by awesome people.  I thought for a second that this week/end might be a little empty with a certain two people out of town but that hasn't been the case.
Mel is leaving for NY today.  Betsy, Melanie, *John* and I should've been in NY for New Year's together!  Speaking of, I feel like I'm walking into this new year with a blind fold on, anything can happen, and I couldn't be more excited!
As for where I will ring in the New Year, no idea yet, I hope it won't be complicated figuring out who/where to spend it, all I know is I have some options & a pretty sweet dress.

i think i'm just happy.

This year I've enjoyed some classic Christmas music, the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin etc. as well as some 90's grunge rock, a la Nirvana.  I may continue this 90's grunge phase because I'm quite enjoying it.  We celebrated Christmas this year like almost every other, only this year my brothers and I slipped off to hang out at the younger twin, Ian's, new place.  I quickly found my favorite part about his bachelor pad & almost made us late for Christmas "dinner" because of it, this is definitely going to be a new tradition.

Not related at all.

Oh & ps, my family is so awesome we have our own fireworks show, right off the pool, after every holiday.  I love them!  Hope you all had an awesome holiday with your families.  cheers!

half nelson, full nelson, willie nelson

Last night was the white elephant party.  The gift purchase max was $2 & we were highly encouraged to bring random items we had around the house.  This included a 5-disc cd changer, a pinata, celine dion parfum, a brick & peanut brittle, a dead plant etc etc.  Best part-DANCE PARTY after.  I am on a rollll.

half psychotic, sick, hypnotic

This weekend was full of mega dance parties.  My house, a bar, a barn for the wedding, dance parties in the car, my house some more, booth dancing at reno room. (sorry cam) ha.  My legs are still a little sore.  Every weekend should contain that much dancing.

The initial stretch.

Shel was trying to teach Erica & I how to win the golf arcade game.  I'd much rather play fooseball or shuffle board, but that's just me.

just live your life.

The throwing of the bouquet.
Dave getting ready to toss Donia's garter.
The single men eagerly awaiting the garter toss.

Dave & Donia played a song they wrote together that was so pretty.

The little azn man pictured above is Donia's dad.  He sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel.  Priceless.

Lots of dancing and good memories from that night.  So glad I could be a part of it all.

Walk with me through blue green leaves...

The Quon's wedding was beautiful.  Watching Donia wave at the onlooking crowd while she carefully tucked her wedding dress into their new car,  tears of absolute joy filling her eyes and gradually trickling down her face made me want to cry.  I will resize all of my pics from this weekend and hopefully have them up later today.

i took it from the center of a magazine.

The January Vogue is so small, for a second I thought it was a special mid-month or holiday issue. I bought it anyway because I'm impulsive and I like Anne Hathaway. I'm glad I did and here are some reasons why:

Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn look beautiful in each of the carefully styled pieces.  David Sims did an awesome job capturing the playfulness in each of the designers creations with the action shots allowing the draped fabrics to appear weightless and flow freely.  Aaah.
